[apple-iphone] Re: iPhone Prices

If you don't have a data plan does the phone even work? If it works only as a phone,  then why not get a cheap phone  and inexpensive carrier?

To answer the last question, how about this: I used to carry an iPod Touch and a Flip Phone everywhere...  too many gadgets...  Now I carry just an iPhone. One less thing in my pocket. I bought the iPhone outright, and I have my choice of a multitude of plans...  right now I am using a T-Mobile Talk and Data Plan that costs me $2.00 for each day that I use it. If I want to change to a different plan with any carrier that uses GSM, I can change at will. Available plans include daily or monthly "talk only" plans and "combination plans" at different prices for different usage levels. Some plans let you buy just minutes and refill whenever needed.
