It was mentioned to uninstall iTunes, there is a specific order, have you tried that?
Can you run a sync, and when its slow, CTRL-ALT-DEL, and check what is using CPU. Then click Performance tab and see what Disk Activity is like
If there is what appears to be a non Apple process running high CPU, end that process, see what happens. If that works, Google the process name to see what software it is related to

Hooked direct to PC's USB, no hub, Apple cable.
Also, I generally ONLY have iTunes open when syncing. No other programs.
I have "msconfig" set so that few background programs are running, too.Chuck F.

I use a Mac, not a PC, but many of the threads I have read about problems syncing with a PC have suggested turning off the AV software, but usually for iOS updates. Are you plugging directly into the PC with the cable from the iDevice? If not get rid of the hub and plug directly into the PC with an Apple cable, not a third party.Brent On Apr 6, 2014, at 5:08 PM, Charles wrote: I have only two (2) USB ports. But, it's BOTH my iPhone (1.5 years old) AND my iPad (brand new) that are syncing very slow. So I don't believe it's in the phone.I know it's not the connecting cord, as both cords I have are brand new. It also was slow with the old cord.It is possible my antivirus failed to find something - as well as my malware and spyware programs.. So I should have said I "believe" it's clean..... But, I do believe it's clean.I am pretty sure it IS in the PC, I just don't know WHERE.The common denominator is the computer..... I just don't know if it's hardware, or software, but I'm leaning software. And if it is software, like you said, it may be hard to find.

Win7 is a very stable platform so if it's not a virus it must be something else that is installed or a faulty component of Win7 and that can be tough to track down. I think your next move is to try a sync on another PC. if you don't have a second Win7 PC you surely must know someone else with a Win7 PC that either has iTunes on it or would permit you to run an experiment. see if you can do that and if the experience is different. if your iP5 syncs quickly then yes, I would agree the problem is in your PC and we can go from there.. otherwise the issue may be in your phone.
