I had the same issue with my UE Boom, it may or may not apply to you, but worth a mention.
Mine works all the time, turn it on, pair, done. If I want to pair a different device, say another iPhone, I HAVE to press a transit button. Check for a button like that in case your scenario does require a manual "retransmit"
