> Would you think for resale an iPad 2 with an older iOS is better than one with the newest? If I get one of the new ones, I wouldn't want to screw up the old one whether I give it to a friend or sell it.

Remember, Apple replaced the original iPad with the iPad 2.
When they brought out the 3rd-gen, retina, iPad, they kept selling the iPad 2.
Not very long after, they brought out the 4th-gen iPad, and KEPT selling the iPad 2.
They announced at the recent gathering that there was a new, faster, iPad Air, but they are STILL selling the iPad 2.
They have reduced the price, and limited to 16 GB only, but because they're still selling it, its value continues to be high.
