I never face the question of how to sell old iPhones.

We have 3 people on a family account. I just upgraded a 4S to a 5S; my wife will get my 4S as an upgrade to her 4, and our housemate will get the 4 as an upgrade to her 3GS. The 3GS will become an emergency back-up/loaner.

And the value of the 3G that is no longer needed as a backup (from the last time we did this) is practically nil.
