I usually skip the s models of iPhones. As we've seen in the past, they're usually incremental upgrade phones. This time, I'm waiting until my contract runs out. I'd like to switch carriers.
I don't know about all states but here in CA, we pay tax on the full amount of the iPhone, not the subsidized price. So, if the iPhone is free with a 2 year contract, that's still around $500 I have to pay just for the phone.
I had the iPhone 4. It was a great phone. The 4S was, to me, a better incremental upgrade than in the past. Siri was the biggest upgrade for the 4s, I think.
