The problem is that many people *assume* that simply changing the subject
line starts a new thread, and there is nothing to tell them otherwise until
they see the result.
I added a piece about this to the welcome message in one of the groups I
moderate but even that doesn't entirely stop threads being mangled or
hijacked.
