Re: [apple-iphone] iPhone 5 Display - Be Careful!

Jim, what the "Genius" said was that I could add Applecare+ at half off
($50) with the purchase of this replacement phone ($229) - it wasn't that I
was using one of the incidents - it was just a "half off" Applecare offer
since I had to purchase a replacement phone instead of just a Screen Repair
that any previous iPhone was capable of. I'm not sure if the same offer
would have applied for say water damage or something that made the phone
completely unusable, I had what could have been a simple repair on any
other iPhone model but because the iPhone 5 has quote "glass cut to each
specific phone there currently is no way to offer an in store repair".

No, I did not purchase Applecare because this is the first time in 6
generations of phones, 4 iPads and an iPad mini that I have even had a
scratch, I also plan on upgrading when the next model is released so the
chances of it happening again in <6 months is hopefully pretty slim and
going in expecting to spend $99 and spending $229 + tax I was already out
2.5x as much as I thought (not to mention when I got home I also found that
the dog had destroyed the living room blinds - he is getting expensive!).
