My icloud account and apple ID is the same and its working fine! Haven't encounter any flaws so far!

My Apple ID is an AOL email, while my iCloud is @me.com.
If I remember right, you are forced to create a @me.com email to be used for iCloud. Thus, my (and probably your) iCloud is different from Apple ID.

Further to my last message.. :-


CONFUSING :-

I decided to go ahead & create a new ID (just to see what will happen).

(all quotes are paraphrased - I'll not quote word for word)

1)

During the register process, it says "Your ID MUST be your email address".

However, during the "forgot ID process (if it works), it asks you for your first name, surname & your email address & other information. if you already know your email address - Why would you forget your "ID" (apparently its the same as your email address ?)

2) I log in as my 'email address' - gordonisnz@gmail.com, & my new password (which I've reset twice), & it says invalid ID / password.


3) I try & re-register a new Id using my email address - But it says my email address is already used / already has an
"ID"

(the wording of the 'registration screen' says the ID *MUST* be the same as your email address. but other wording on the site indicates the ID is distinct / separate to your email address.)


POSSIBLE :- is it possible that my registration process was stopped / cancelled half way through ? So I'm not fully registered, but I'm unable to re-register as my application is in progress.

Is it possible to correct this half-way-through registration?
