have the rules improved in iCloud, since MobileMe? They were pretty limited, IIRC, at first. I have about 40 rules to deal with spam that gets by the filters, that couldn't be duplicated in MobileMe. And I have about 125 rules to move email to other folders. As you can see that would be a bit of work to handle only one email account, since the rest of my accounts are POP and are not forwarded to iCloud.
BTW, when you interleaf your replies it is a real pain to follow the conversation, and becomes a real pain to respond to.

Log in to your iCloud account at icloud.com
Click on Mail
Click on the gear in the upper right corner
Click on Rules
Create Rules as needed
I have about 20 rules there, mostly filtering messages from various groups like this into their own folders.
