[apple-iphone] Re: Using iPhone for possible iPod

Thanks, Brent, I figured once the carrier activated the new sim/phone by serial #, or whatever their manor, all bets were off for the old sim.

I had done this once before when upgrading from 3G to 3GS. Although it did work, each time I'd power-up or wake-up the phone, both the "Slide to unlock" and subsequent home screen would display "Sim locked! PUK (something)!!). Of course, this was using OS 3.x.x, and t'was amusing at first (There's no PUK 'sob') but it got annoying. I have IOS 5.1.x on the 3GS, can I expect smooth sailing?

Thanks also for the tip of not using the device's software to wipe it. Which brings up another brow raiser. All three phones are registered to me, if I want/need to sync to iTunes can I set three accounts up, say Cal1, Cal2, etc? I'll probably keep the 3GS and 5, would it be best for them to have their own iTunes on different computers?

Thanks for such a brisk response, our iPhone 5's are en-route and should arrive next Wednesday. I want to be ready…Cal

Do your best to be the best you can
