How do you know when it's time to retire your iPhone?
My iPhone 3GS is about 18 months old - it was a replacement for a like model that had weird battery troubles. Between those two phones, I've not upgraded since I bought the original in July 2008.
Yes, I know there are new bells and whistles to the 4G, and the potential for the new version iPhone this fall. However, I don't have a big need for those thing - I can access internet, the phone works fine, camera is decent, etc.
However, my phone is starting to act up. Slow response time in typing an email/text (tap-tap-tap away, while no characters appear... then they all appear at once). Accessing some apps seems to take much longer than in the past. I have trouble hanging up on some calls because the screen flashes to black, and I can't tap the "End Call" button.
None of these things are regular occurrences, but do happen enough that it's frustrating. I have the 16 GB, and have used 13.3 GB of storage. I can easily remove a variety of things, but not sure that will help much.
So, should I retire it based on the symptoms described? Should I do a good clean-up of the pictures and music and see if that helps? Any suggestions?
Thanks!
