I looked at Audible for books for long trips. I don't listen to books enough to make it worth my while to pay a membership. iTunes has audio books, some from audible.com. I've gotten a few of them. I'm not a fan of a one person read book unless the reader can do different voices very well. I like books that have different readers for the different voices. I've found a lot of the readers aren't very good readers, so I don't find myself really getting into the stories of audiobooks. I have many more iBooks and Kindle books. I read quite a bit at night in bed before sleep.

Yes, I made that suggestion, also. What is available here, may be different in your neck of the woods. You might be able to access a local college or university library, but again your local librarian would be the first one I would check with. It does not matter what someone else located elsewhere has available to them. What matters is what is available to you if you want to access free books other than public domain books.

My county library carries way more WMA books than MP3, but luckily I have an extra iPod and BootCamp set up on my Mac, so I just check out the WMA for Windows books. Although one of my favorite authors has not give permission to transfer them to any Apple iDevice.

But, the selection of audio books is much smaller than the collection of digital format books. Is there a way I can download digital books through Overdrive from the library and then have them read out loud?
