Re: [apple-iphone] iOS 5.1 and the iPhone 3GS

Well, I thought of that too but if it can be done with apps, why not with an OS update? RIM was able to do that with their PlayBook OS updates. I don't see why Apple can't.

Anyway, sorry about not starting a new thread. It was in reply to the posts within this thread on downloading OS update. It will be awkward to reply on a new thread to a post on a different one. Any open discussion is bound to branch out to other related topics.

Now, to get us back on track... What was the issue again?

Oh, here it is verbatim, N.A. Nada <whodo678@comcast.net> wrote:

Being that it is at the lowest iPhone eligible for the upgrade, and I am not in a position to upgrade the iPhone, I am being extra cautious. And other than one 4S user upgrading, I have seen no posts on iOS 5.1 from a user.why no one is posting about iOS 5.1!"

Probably because everyone's having a hard time with the download... Which leads me again to my previous question... Why not make downloads easier by allowing pause and continue instead of always going back to zero?
Well, it's on track after all! In fact, it's a direct reply to the original post!

That way you don't get a broken or messed up file to install.

Thanks for taking the thread even farther off track, instead of starting a new thread.
