My sister-in-law has an iPhone 3G that is being difficult.
The phone is recognized by iTunes but won't sync - it seems to hang in backup. It does not show up in Windows Explorer (My Computer)
I uninstalled iTunes, Quicktime, Bonjour, and the various Apple tools. At that point the phone does show up in Windows Explorer but attempts to copy photos from the phone to the PC result in an error that the device is busy or another application is using it.
A clean installation of iTunes returns to the initial state of hanging backup and the phone not appearing in Windows Explorer.
The phone works fine as a phone, apps work, everything seems fine, it just won't sync or show up in Windows Explorer.
The priority is to get all the photos off the phone so she can preserve them when she upgrades to a 4S. Incidentally, there are 1,643 pictures on the phone. E-mailing photos works but the sheer number of pictures makes that approach daunting.
Any ideas?
