protector on it?

1. My personal experience is that iPhones in my shirt pocket daily for
nearly 3 years have acquired no screen scratches.

2. Corning's Gorilla Glass is harder than almost anything short of diamond,
and can't be scratched by anything short of diamond. It can be *broken* -
notably by an edge-impact - which is why a bumper or case is helpful.

So my question is: why *would* you put a screen "obscurer" on it?
