This is what happens to mine as well. I'm able to sync new music so when it
gets to that step and stays there, I cancel the sync by tapping the x in the
window in the middle of iTunes. If that doesn't stop it, I close out of
iTunes completely. So far it hasn't been a problem-as far as syncing stuff.

Subject: [apple-iphone] Waiting for items to copy?
Here's a new wrinkle. While performing a normal nightly sync/recharge, the
backup goes smoothly through its several steps. When it reaches "Syncing
Music to (my) iPhone, (Step 7 of 7) Waiting for items to copy," it just
hangs up there. Disconnecting seems to do no harm, but it happens again.
I've not added any new music to the phone or the synced libraries. This is a
hard-wired sync, not over WiFi. Should I be concerned? It also seems to slow
down the charging process, and there seems no way to abort the process, as
there used to be. Thanks for any thoughts.
