When I was in Chicago, I just used the built in maps app. I tapped the
curled page on the bottom right, tapped drop pin. Went about my day,
came back to the car and tapped on the arrow on the pin and selected
remove pin. Did that the whole trip with no problems.

[apple-iphone] I need some advise.
I'm looking for a "find my parked car" app that actually works in large parking lots. I download several and none are any good for parking lots. They want me to use the street.
Please, any input is a help.
Thanks, all.

[apple-iphone] Backup/Restore Question
Background:
Got a new, unlocked 4S last week from Apple. Went to ATT and got micro sim
card. When I got home, I noticed that I couldn't send picture messages to
anyone not on iOS5 (will only send MMSes using iMessage). Went back to ATT
which switched out sim card, played with settings in the system and with
settings on my phone. After resetting network settings as a last thing to
try, I was able to send an MMS but by the time I got home, I was unable to
again. I tried resetting the network settings again and turning off all the
options the ATT service rep did but it did not work. Went back to ATT and
they said there was nothing left for them to try, that it's the phone and to
go to Apple. Drove to Apple who said it's probably a software issue, to
reset the phone back to factory settings, set up the iPhone as new and sync
with iTunes. I did that, MMS worked but I restored from the backup when I
saw all the pictures missing and all the settings I was going to have to
re-do but didn't have the time then. To my surprise, MMS started working
but then stopped again after sending 2 MMSes.
My question:
After setting up the phone as new, I'd like to at least restore text
messages and pictures without restoring anything else. Can this be done? I
have backed up the phone to both iCloud and my PC (Win7). I read about
iBackupBot and installed it. I was able to restore the text messages using
it but not pictures. Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: [apple-iphone] iTether now unavailable in App Store
is what has prompted my request for a refund... not working for me, no
support, happening, no app to download in the future should I change phones,
just looks like a fisaco to me.

Reach out to tech support. I don't know what could be wrong. But I know it
should work fine.

Re: [apple-iphone] Time zone problem
Try turning off your auto time zone and turning it back on. Another try is to turn on airplane mode then turn it off. When airplane mode is turned off once it's been on, it should go and get the correct time from your cell provider.

Did you download the mac or pc program for the desktop/laptop?
Have you looked at the tether faq/website?
