[apple-iphone] Problems with autocorrect

When I type some-thing some times it gets converted to a french word. I do have a french keyboard enabled but I don't want french to appear when I'm typing in English. Is there a way to turn it off? Also french words are suggested with diacritical marks which is very annoying. Also symbols are suggested. Can one turn these off?

Also some times autocorrect will introduce an entirely different word from what I habe typed. The word appears in blue in the middle box below the typing space but if one is looking at the keyboard he doesn't see the word in blue. Is there a way to turn this off without turning autocorrect off altogether?

Thanks for any advice.

Yes, but the question was about "looking forward" to it. I should have said "temporarily". You don't have any great eagerness for something that will mess up your phone for a while.

The only app that I would really miss is Google Earth.  I assume that Google has the resources to fix that.

Everybody looking forward to losing 32 bit apps on next update?

I've got 30 on the list, a handful I'm not sure I want to leave behind.

To check yours there is now a arrow next to your number of apps with 10.3. I think it's settings/about/applications

Mike R

I didn't know about that list. I have 13 apps on the list. Several I use every day and most of the others weekly. No response from two of the developers and a third said they were working on it, that was a couple of months ago.
Is there anyway to block future updates in case I forget and agree to an update?
This iPad mini 2 is becoming more difficult to use with every update. A simple task like typing this response is now a fight.

Thanks for the info.
