Have you tried the highest rated email app?

You'll only lose apps if the individual app developers don't upgrade their apps.

What is going to happen with the 32 bit iPhones? Like the iPhone 5, for example.

My guess is that they will not be eligible for the iOS update and pretty much lose all support.
