Re: [apple-iphone] Photos

Sandy

When you go to

Settings->ICloud->Photos

What is activated?

Do you have iCloud Photo Library on?
Upload to my Photo Stream on?
iCloud Photo Sharing on?

I'm SO confused, and I hope someone can help me.

I have a 6s, and it has the Photos icon on the main menu. I seem to recall in earlier versions there were 2 icons... one was "cameral roll" which showed the photos that are held in the camera, and the other was "photo stream" or something like that which held all of the photos in the cloud.

Now I only have the one menu. How do I know whether they are only in my camera or if they are also held in the cloud? Why don't I have 2 separate icons anymore?

If I delete these photos will they be lost forever?  When I look in iCloud photos on my PC (Win10) there are no photos there. And when I look at My Photo Stream on my PC there are many photos there, but not nearly as many as there are in my phone.

Like I said... I'm just confuzzled.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Have you tried the highest rated email app?
With 4.5 stars in iTunes, the Yahoo Mail app is the highest rated email app on the market. What are you waiting for? Now you can access all your inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, AOL and more) in one place. Never delete an email again with 1000GB of free cloud storage.

Apple has changed the way they catalog photos. You just have to keep playing with it and it will come clear.

The other news is that iOS 10 will be out tomorrow or at least in the next week. I'm sure something will change so I would wait until it's out to worry about it.

Re: [apple-iphone] Calendar, time, daylight saving problem

I remember this being a problem with iPhone iOS at one time. I don't know which version had the problem. Apple made and adjustment to the OS and it went away.

Several things I woud check is are you the edge of 2 time zones that would give you a signal from a tower in the with the wrong time.

Have you checked the time zone in your Win 10 PC? You can tell the PC to automaticly set the time from the Internet but you have to tell it which Zone you are in. The time zone can be set to automatic but that can cause some problems too.

I have not seen this for problem for a long time.

This has happened the last two times I have bought a new Windows PC. For years I have used an iphone, currently iphone 6 plus, syncing via itunes with Windows (currently Win 10). This must go back to about iphone 3 and Win XP but I m no longer quite sure how long ago.

The last new PC was in Summer 2011 and I found that many Calendar entries in the iphone had come forward an hour - particularly repeating "All-Day" entries were now showing from 23.00 the night before to 23.00 on the day, instead of being a true "All-Day" entry. Repeat entries with a specific time were an hour earlier!

Now I have bought a new Win 10 PC (in June) and, syncing my iphone 6 plus, which I have had some months, I find that it has happened again - the two time/calendar systems of MS and Apple do not interpret UTC/BST changes in the same way. I should add that both devices, in both cases, were already properly configured for Summer Time.

Has anyone else experienced this major glitch? It really has messed up my whole scheduling in a big way on repeating entries. Is there an easy way to correct it? Changing every entry almost defeats the object of having an electronic diary that lasts days, monthe, years, decades. How should I approach the next new PC? (Please, Apple fans, don't give me the sell - experience tells me Apple and MS can compete for bugginess)
